Miller Canfield offers labor and employment guidance for HR pros

Attorneys James B. Thelen and Scott R. Eldridge of Miller Canfield will present and provide guidance on labor and employment legal topics for human resources professionals at the Human Resource Management Association of Mid-Michigan (HRMAMM) Educational Seminar on Thursday, March 11, from 9 a.m. - noon at the James B. Henry Center for Executive Development in Lansing. 

Thelen and Eldridge will give an overview and update on pending legislation affecting the workplace and also discuss best practices from implementing reductions in workforces and other terminations.

‘Due Process’ focuses on employment law

“Due Process” will focus on employment law on March 12 at 5:30 pm on PBS station WTVS Channel 56. Employment law impacts employers and employees alike. From job sharing, to reducing benefits, to retraining, rising unemployment is affecting everyone.

Join Host Henry Baskin and guests, Patricia Nemeth from Nemeth Burwell, PC and Kathleen L. Bogas from the Law Offices of Kathleen L. Bogas PLLC as they discuss the strategies and opportunities to help cope with this statewide problem.

ADTC plans next meeting at Detroit Red Wings game, March 9

The Association of Defense Trial Counsel (ADTC) will host its March 2010 meeting as the Detroit Red Wings take on the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, March 9, beginning at 7 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Seats will be in sections 214 and 215. The price is $40 per ticket.
