Mount Clemens: Plea made in beating of blind Michigan man
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — A 23-year-old Macomb County man faces sentencing later this month in the robbery of a legally blind man who was beaten with his own walking cane in Mount Clemens.

The Detroit Free Press and The Macomb Daily report David A. Anderson pleaded no contest in December to unarmed robbery and aggravated assault and is to be sentenced on Jan. 31 in circuit court.

Police say Anderson and his teenage brother jumped 50-year-old Daniel Perron in early August and stole $600 just after Perron cashed a disability check.

Local groups gave Perron $600 to replace the stolen money.

Anderson’s brother pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery in juvenile court.

Jackson: Police: Man, 23, accuses woman of assaulting him
JACKSON, Mich. (AP) — Jackson police say a 23-year-old man has accused his 20-year-old girlfriend of assaulting him.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports the man claims that the female suspect parked her car Sunday after she saw him walking on the sidewalk, approached and began hitting him with her hands

Police Lt. Elmer Hitt says the suspect got back into her car, backed into a pedestrian, then pulled forward and collided with a parked car.

The pedestrian suffered minor hip injuries and refused treatment.

The woman remains in custody and is expected to face charges this week.
