Daily Briefs (Jan 14)

Correction
The Jan. 11 Detroit Legal News story, “Governor Names Zahra to Replace Corrigan,” should have said Brian Zahra’s appointment to replace Maura Corrigan alters the gender majority on the court. Zahra becomes the fourth male on the court, along with Chief Justice Robert P. Young Jr. and Justices Michael F. Cavanagh and Stephen J. Markman.

The three remaining women on the court are Justices Marilyn Kelly; Diane Marie Hathaway, who defeated Justice Clifford Taylor in 2008; and Mary Beth Kelly, who defeated appointed incumbent Alton T. Davis in November.

We apologize for the error.
