Former State Rep. Paul Condino to serve as VP for AFPD
   Auday Arabo, president and CEO of the Associated Food & Petroleum Dealers has appointed Paul Condino  as its new vice president of Government Relations effective immediately.
  “Mr. Condino’s legal experience, leadership skills, and government involvement are exactly what we were looking for this position,” said Arabo. “He is a valued addition to our team.”
  Condino served as a trial attorney in a private practice for 17 years, including six years as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan. He also served three terms as State Representative for the 35th District in Michigan, and five years as a City Council member for the City of Southfield.
  As vice president of Government Relations, Condino will be responsible for the day to day activities for AFPD in Lansing, Michigan and Columbus, Ohio. 
  “I am both excited and humbled to advocate for the AFPD in a team effort to direct legislative policy that benefits our members and their customers,” said Condino.

Attorney appointed to health care regulatory policy work group
  Gil Frimet, senior attorney at Foster Swift Collins & Smith, P.C., has been appointed to the Health Care Regulatory Policy Action Work Group.
  The Michigan Department of Community Health has received federal funding for a planning process regarding the implementation of a health insurance exchange(s) for the state. Five stakeholder work groups have been formed to discuss possible solutions and offer their input. Each work group's recommendations will be submitted to a steering committee, which will make final recommendations on the design of the exchange(s).
  Frimet joined the firm Of Counsel in 2003 and is a member of the Health Care Law Practice Group. He began practicing in Michigan in 1955 and has more than 48 years of health and administrative law experience. A prolific writer, he has authored and co-authored many articles for Health Care Weekly Review and numerous health and legal publications. He received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University and his L.L.B. and J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
