Firm managing partner elected to MACA board 

Doreen Hoffman, managing partner of Trott Recovery Services, PLLC (TRS), a Farmington Hills-based debt collection law firm, was recently elected to the Michigan Association of Collection Agencies (MACA) board.
 
As a board member, Hoffman will regularly convene with government officials and collections industry experts to discuss legislative issues in the collections space. She will also attend MACA board meetings to help drive the strategic direction of the organization. Her term as board member became effective May 2012 and will run through May 2013.
 
MACA is a collection association that is affiliated with The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals (ACA International). MACA serves as the local industry resource for information, education and state legislative advocacy for its members.
 
Committee to Re-elect Judge Halloran to hold two fundraisers
The Committee to Re-elect Judge Richard Halloran announces the first of two fundraisers to support Judge Halloran’s re-election efforts. The first fundraiser will be held Tuesday, June 19  from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Antonio’s Cucina Italiana, 26356 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights. The second fundraiser will be held Thursday, June 28 from 5:30-7:30pm at Antonio’s Cucina Italiana, 37646 West 12 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
 
Members of the fundraising committee have planned a gala event for both evenings. Tickets good for either event may be obtained by contacting Re-election Committee Treasurer, Margo Tobin at 313-961-6700, or any of the Re-election Committee members. If any attorney would like to become a part of the Re-election Committee they should also contact Tobin.
 
Legal Aid and Defender Association workshop
Legal Aid and Defender Association Inc. (LAD) will conduct a series of three workshops this spring for residents of Wayne, Macomb, and Oakland counties on how to represent themselves in small claims courts and collect money judgments. The workshop for Oakland County residents will be offered Wednesday, June 20, at the Oakland County Law Library, 1200 N. Telegraph in Pontiac. Registration for the workshop will begin at 3:30 p.m. The workshop will begin promptly at 4 p.m.
