Soifer Lecture

On Tuesday, September 11, Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Lansing campus hosted The Seventh Annual Howard Soifer Memorial Lecture in Sports and
Entertainment Law.  The lecture featured two Cooley graduates who both have ties to the music industry. Robert “Boogie Bob” Baldori (seated),  founder of the ‘60s Rock Band “The Woolies,” discussed his legal and entertainment career representing recording artists. Sheldon Kay (left), also known as “The Rock and Roll Lawyer,” discussed the evolution of 50s lyrics in music, censorship and the legalities involved.
The lecture series is endowed by Soifer’s family, partners and peers to honor his memo. Also pictured are Cooley Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations James Robb and Sandy Soifer, wife of the late Howard Soifer.
