The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, conducted its New Lawyers Seminar on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Theodore Levin Courthouse in Detroit.  The luncheon program was held at the Doubletree Fort Shelby Hotel and covered “Procedures in Circuit Court.” Welcoming the seminar participants to the luncheon were (l-r) FBA Executive Director Brian Figot of the Law Office of Brian D. Figot; Catherine Wenger of Trinity Health Services; U.S. District Court Judge Arthur Tarnow; Grosse Ile attorney Chris Dowhan-Bailey; U.S. District Court Judge Patrick Duggan; Pamela Kroll of Caputo Brosnan PC; Sterling Heights attorney Maria D’Agostini; and Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan Chief Judge Pro Tem Lita Popke.

The United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, conducted a mass swearing in of new attorneys to the federal bar on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. Those attending the Federal Bar Association’s New Lawyers Seminar were invited to take part in the ceremony along with anyone else wishing to join the federal bar.

The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, presented its “Complex Litigation Doubleheader 2012” on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse. Among those taking part in the seminar were (l-r) Mark Aiello of Foley & Lardner LLP, Michael Palizzi of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, & Stone PLC; U.S. District Court’s Magistrate Judge David R. Grand, Executive Magistrate Judge Steven Whalen, and Magistrate Judge Laurie Michelson; and Jeff Sadowski of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC.  The first part of the program looked at “Creating an Efficient Presentation at Trial in Complex Litigation” and the second part examined “Best Practices for Pretrial Proceedings in a Complex Case.”
