Spirit of Detroit Mercy honors distinguished alumni

University of Detroit Mercy hosted its 3rd annual university-wide celebration Spirit of UDM: Alumni Achievement Awards on Friday, April 22. The event honored distinguished alumni from each college and school who reflect the University's mission of excellence and service and bring pride to UDM. From Detroit Mercy Law, Dean Phyllis Crocker honored Eugene A. Gargaro Jr. '67, Legal Counsel and Officer, Richard & Jane Manoogian Foundation.

This year, the other honorees and the school or college they represent were:

- Michael A. Carter '72, '78, Managing Partner, Pinnacle Construction Partners, LLC-College of Liberal Arts & Education

- Richard Golden, D.D.S. '71, President & Chief Executive Officer, Golden Laser Dental-School of Dentistry

- Phyllis E. Peters Look '51, Retired Director of Professional Standards, Deloitte & Touche-College of Business Administration

- Henry 'Hank' Nickol '55, Retired Vice President & General Manager for Vehicle Operations, North American Automotive Operations, Ford Motor Company-College of Engineering & Science

- Meredith R. Phillips '94, '97, Chief Information Privacy & Security Officer, Henry Ford Health System-College of Health Professions

- James Timberlake '74, Founder and Partner, KieranTimberlake-School of Architecture
