PHOTO #1: The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) New Lawyers Committee (NLC) hosted its 17th Annual Tigers Outing on Friday, June 24, at Comerica Park. Prior to the game between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians, the committee presented a check to Lakeshore Legal Aid’s Counsel and Advocacy Law Line (CALL) which was the NLC’s selected charity this year. The NLC chooses an Oakland County charity to raise money for throughout the year.  Funds were raised from NLC events such as the Summer Splash, Novemberfest, Board of Directors Fowling Challenge, and Meet the Judges Party/Silent Auction. As a result of these efforts, and with the support of their sponsor, Stout Risius Ross, the NLC was honored to present CALL with a check for $6,800. Taking part in the on-field check presentation before the ball game were (l-r) 2015-2016 OCBA President David Carl Anderson; 2015-2016 New Lawyers Committee Chair Victoria King, and Vice-Chair of Programs Jon Martone; Jeff Bagalis of Stout Risius Ross; and Bill Knight and Margery Klausner of CALL. CALL attorneys offer poor and senior people equal access to basic legal help via telephone, answering more than 2,200 calls per month.
