Photo 1: The Women’s Bar Association, Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, conducted its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 11, at the Birmingham Athletic Club. The Evelyn Forrest Distinguished Advocate Award went to former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade (front, left) and the Joan Young Judicial Excellence Award went to retired Oakland County Probate Court Judge Elizabeth Pezzetti (front, right). Happy to congratulate the honorees were (back, l-r) Erin Klug and Kristen Pursley. In addition, the WBA presented its first Sarah Kilgore Wertman Scholarship to ­University of Detroit Mercy School of Law student Michelle Shember (not pictured). The scholarship is named after Wertman who is the first woman to graduate from law school and be admitted to the bar
in Michigan.
