Annual Bench-Bar Social Golf Outing

Join the Federal Bar Association Eastern District of Michigan Chapter for a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on Monday, June 24 at its Annual Bench-Bar Social Golf Outing. Feel free to arrive as early as 10:30 a.m. for driving range practice and a box lunch (provided). The outing will be held at the Lochmoor Club, 1018 Sunningdale Dr. in Grosse Pointe Woods. The cost to attend is $225 for members and $255 for non-members, or $850 for a foursome. • Oakland County Bar Association: ­Employment Law Year in Review

The Oakland County Bar Association presents “Employment Law Year in Review: Health and Safety in the Workplace” from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 at Oakland County Bar Association, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd. #100 in Bloomfield Hills. A panel of experts highlights legal developments in labor and employment law from the past year and provides insight into upcoming trends. Presenters are Aaron V. Burrell, Dickinson Wright PLLC; Timothy S. Cordes, Cordes Law PLLC; Delores Korb Mayer, Wayne State University Law School; and Benjamin M. Low, Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. Topics of discussion will include “Bullying and Cyber-Bullying in the Workplace,” “A New Frontier: Marijuana Legalization and What it Means for Employers,” and “LGBT Issues in the Workplace in a Post-Obergefell Reality.” The cost to attend is $40 for OCBA members, $30 for new lawyers, paralegals and law students, and $50 for non-members. The Detroit Legal Services Clinic provides information and advice from volunteer attorneys in the areas of divorce, child support, domestic relations issues, expungements, self-representation, and general civil law. The clinic is from 12-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 at the Penobscot Building, 13th Floor, Smart Detroit Conference Rooms, 645 Griswold in Detroit. Volunteers may arrive at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.
