• State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section: Court Rule Changes
November 18

The State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section is hosting a seminar on court rule changes from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Nov­em­ber 18 at Michigan State University Management Education Center, 811 W. Square Lake Rd. in Troy. The cost to attend is $200 for members, $300 for non-members (includes membership in Negligence Law Section), $95 for new lawyers, and $300 for others. • State Bar Religious Liberty Law Section Annual Meeting and Presentation
November 18

The Religious Liberty Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will hold its annual meeting from 3-5 p.m. Monday, November 18 at the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd. in Pontiac. In addition to voting and naming new officers, the meeting will include a discussion on current religious liberty concerns in Michigan. Constitutional Law scholar, author, and Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren will be our guest speaker addressing “When Legal Protections to Religious Freedom and Sexual Freedom Collide.” The event is free to attend. • Detroit Bar Association Detroit Legal Services Clinic
November 19

The Detroit Legal Services Clinic provides information and advice from volunteer attorneys in the areas of divorce, child support, domestic relations issues, expungements, self-representation, and general civil law. The clinic is from 12-3 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 at the Penobscot Building, 13th Floor, Smart Detroit Conference Rooms, 645 Griswold in Detroit. Volunteers may arrive at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.

• Edward H. Rakow Luncheon with Barbara J. Rom Award
November 20

The Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will host its second luncheon in its series with the Rom/Rakow luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, November 20. Join members of The Federal Bar Foundation, Federal Bar Association Eastern District of Michigan Chapter and the Historical Society for their annual luncheon, which includes a presentation by the Court Historical Society.
