State - Detroit Kresge gives $800,000 for WSU TechTown expansion

DETROIT (AP) -- Wayne State University's TechTown business incubator project has received an $800,000 grant from The Kresge Foundation for renovation efforts and operations.

Kresge is providing up to $650,000 for renovating the TechTwo operation, which occupies the former Dalgleish Cadillac building.

TechTown's TechOne incubator now is full, and there is a waiting list for startup businesses. Kresge supplied $1.5 million to start TechOne.

TechTown is a participant in a three-year entrepreneurship initiative funded by the New Economy Initiative. The project aims to create 1,200 sustainable startup businesses.
