4 Dawda Mann attorneys among 'Best'

Four attorneys from the law firm Dawda Mann have been selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America: Edward C. Dawda, Theresa C. Joswick, Michael D. Mulcahy, and Susan J. Sadler.

Edward C. Dawda is one of the founders of the firm. He specializes in a broad range of business, corporate and real estate transactional matters and has been an advisor and counsel to nationally known private and publicly traded companies in major corporate transactions as well as retail, commercial and industrial real estate development projects across the United States. Dawda earned his J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 1977. He received his B.A., with high honors, from Michigan State University in 1974.

Theresa C. Joswick is a member of the firm. She has more than 30 years experience in assisting a wide range of clients in the design, preparation, implementation, administration and taxation of retirement plans, welfare plans (such as medical, dental, cafeteria and severance pay benefit plans), and executive benefit plans for both for-profit and tax-exempt organizations. She also advises both buyers and sellers on benefit issues in connection with business mergers, acquisitions and dispositions and assists clients with IRS and DOL benefits compliance matters. Joswick earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (formerly known as the University of Detroit School of Law), and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Michael D. Mulcahy is one of the founders of the firm. He specializes in a broad range of business, finance and real estate transactions. Mulcahy represents developers and buyers in the development, purchase and financing of major retail centers, offices buildings and multi-use projects. He also represents borrowers and banks with respect to loans in default. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972.

Susan J. Sadler is one of the founders of the firm. She has over 28 years experience providing counsel on compliance with a full range of environmental laws, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Wetland Regulations, Endangered Species Act, and state environmental statutes and permitting requirements. She frequently defends corporations in administrative proceedings and environmental litigation brought by citizens groups, Attorney General Offices and the Federal Justice Department. Sadler earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo in 1980 and a B.A. from Albion College in 1977.
