Clark Hill expands its presence in Washington DC

Clark Hill PLC has expanded its presence in Washington DC to premier office space at 601 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, North Building Suite 1000.

“We are pleased to announce our move to Pennsylvania Avenue, and particularly pleased that our growing regulatory practices in the areas of Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources, Immigration, and Political Law, as well as our Government and Public Affairs lobbying team, have necessitated this expansion,” said Charlie Spies, Managing Member of Clark Hill PLC Washington.  “We have added prominent national practitioners to our firm in recent years and have plans to continue our growth into the future.”

Clark Hill opened the doors to its Washington office in June of 2009.  Spies signed on to lead the firm’s Political Law Team and the Washington office in the summer of 2010, and the firm has subsequently grown with the addition of former EPA Deputy General Counsel Kenneth von Schaumburg and former DOJ litigator John Sheehan, as well as former Department of the Treasury Official Peter Dugas and, most recently, former Army Corps of Engineers Chief Counsel Robert Andersen (previously the head of the Energy practice at a national law firm).  In addition,  Roberta Freedman co-leads the firm’s national Immigration Practice out of the Washington DC office.

“This is the right time for a firm with Michigan roots to grow in Washington,” Spies said.  “Michigan has the most powerful delegation in Congress and Michigan businesses are on the rebound and need to navigate the Federal regulatory environment and Washington, D.C.”
