Law Weathers adds new attorney, is named one of  West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest to Work for

Law Weathers announces the addition of a new personal injury and medical malpractice attorney, Brian Lawson, to the firm. Lawson joins the Law Weathers team with over 20 years of experience in personal injury and general litigation – specializing in nursing home abuse and neglect, commercial trucking accidents, fire and explosion injuries, product liability and pharmaceutical defects.

Before joining Law Weathers, Lawson served as Chairperson of the Litigation Group and Recruiting Committee at a large Grand Rapids firm. He has represented everyone from large manufacturers and insurance companies to small businesses. He was recognized as one of the Best Lawyers of America 2014 and Leading Lawyers 2014. He graduated summa cum laude from Franklin College with an English degree and received his J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law.

Lawson is also very active in the community, having participated in the Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Committee, Michigan Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels, Kent County Stream Cleanup/Erosion Control, and Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association. He currently serves on the Grand Rapids Bar Association Board of Trustees and sits on the Justice Foundation board. He is a versatile and valuable addition to the Law Weathers team.

Earlier this month, Law Weathers was selected as one of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in West Michigan for the third year in a row. They are one of just five law firms to be named to the prestigious list. The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® is a program of the Michigan Business and Professional Association that provides the business community with an opportunity to gain recognition, showcase their best practices and demonstrate why they are an ideal place for employees to work. This national program celebrates those companies that are making better business, creating richer lives and building a stronger community as a whole.

“We are honored to recognize the efforts of this year’s ‘Best and Brightest’ companies. These companies have created impressive organizational value and business results through their policies and Best Practices in human resource management. This award has become a designation sought after by hundreds of West Michigan area companies and is a powerful recruitment tool... to attract and retain exceptional employees,” said Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO of MBPA.

The competition identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource and employee enrichment practices. Companies are evaluated on categories such as communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, achievement and recognition, community initiatives, inclusion, employee retention and more.
