Smith Haughey welcomes attorneys Rose Kleff and Patricia Hertel

Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that attorneys Rose P. Kleff and Patricia S. Hertel have joined the firm’s Grand Rapids office.

Rose P. Kleff joins Smith Haughey as an associate in the firm’s medical malpractice defense practice group. Before pursuing her J.D., Rose was a registered nurse, working in cardio-thoracic surgery, general surgery and dermatology. She went on to serve as a judicial intern for Justice Bridget M. McCormack at the Michigan Supreme Court as well as for the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan.

Kleff graduated with a BSN. from Grand Valley State University before earning her J.D., magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. She is licensed to practice law in the state court of Michigan.

Patricia S. Hertel is also joining Smith Haughey’s medical malpractice defense practice group. She is a familiar face at Smith Haughey, as she worked as a legal intern for the firm during her undergraduate studies, then as a summer associate while pursuing her J.D.

Hertel graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in English and went on to earn her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.
