Fields-Foster joins Warner Norcross as senior counsel



Monique C. Field-Foster has joined the law firm of Warner Norcross and Judd LLP as senior counsel of government affairs.

 Field-Foster concentrates her practice on all facets of government affairs, including policy strategy and development, analysis and drafting of legislation, legislative events, contract review and other advocacy initiatives. An experienced lobbyist and policy analyst, she brings nearly 20 years of experience in Lansing to her new role with the firm.

Prior to joining Warner Norcross, Field-Foster served as assistant vice president of strategic initiatives in the Michigan State University Office of Governmental Affairs. In this role, she designed programs to educate MSU constituencies about the economic impact of university programs and research throughout the state. She also developed strategies to continue the growth and outreach of grassroots advocacy with state and local officials for increased state investment in higher education.

Field-Foster has also served as an attorney-lobbyist for Wiener Associates, where she was responsible for the legislative and legal oversight of client agendas to promote and create client and legislative events. In this role, she developed relationships with key state officials and strategized on policy initiatives and fiscal concerns.

She also spent eight years working in state government, first as director of governmental affairs for the Michigan Department of Management and Budget. In this role, she coordinated with the governor’s office, Michigan Legis-lature, attorney general’s office and various departments on joint projects, legislative proposals and programs, as well as policy development.

Prior to that, she served as deputy director of legislative affairs for the governor’s office and a legislative policy analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives. Field-Foster began her career in private practice, working for firms in Lansing and Flint.

 Field-Foster is a Council of State Government Henry Toll Fellow and a Big 10 Academic Alliance Leadership Fellow. A former member of the Michigan State Bar Representative Assembly, she is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association.
 She holds bachelor of science degrees in natural resource development and environmental communication from MSU and a law degree from the Thomas Cooley Law School.

 A native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Field-Foster currently resides in Okemos with her husband, Eric K. Foster.
