Price Heneveld welcomes two associates

Intellectual property law firm Price Heneveld LLP congratulates new associates, M. Alyssa Barksdale and Jeffrey D. Simon, on passing the July 2017 bar exam and being sworn in Nov. 3 in Grand Rapids.

Alyssa Barksdale joined Price Heneveld as a law clerk after earning her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2017.  She earned both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University.  During both undergraduate and graduate years, Barksdale served as a research assistant in the Construction Materials Research Center, where she performed lab testing, data collection, and analysis on various materials for construction projects. As a law student, she was Co-Chair of the Student Bar Association Election Committee for two years, a Moot Court Campbell Board Member, an Intellectual Property Moot Court Team Member, and Secretary of the IP Law Society.

Jeff Simon joined Price Heneveld as a law clerk after earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2017. His interests and experience center on the chemical and biological sciences, as well as patent and regulatory affairs relating to the medical technologies industry. Simon earned a B.A. in Biochemistry from Albion College, where he performed research for the college’s Chemistry Department in connection with the treatment of ionic liquids with permanganate derivatives. At the University of Minnesota, he served as Editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology.
