Jon VanderPloeg joins Hilger Hammond

 

Jon VanderPloeg has joined Hilger Hammond, PC, founded in 2008 in Grand Rapids by Steve Hilger and Ben Hammond

For the last 40 years, VanderPloeg, who has with 47 years of legal experience, has concentrated his appellate practice in the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court and the Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. 

He has handled hundreds of cases in those courts, and has obtained numerous decisions of significance for Michigan jurisprudence. 

VanderPloeg is a magna cum laude graduate of Hope College, and a magna cum laude graduate of Indiana University School of Law.

Barnes & Thornburg announces elections of two new partners

Barnes & Thornburg recently announced the partner election of Scott A. Dienes and Anthony C. Sallah in the Grand Rapids office. 

Dienes is a real estate, municipal and finance attorney assisting clients with complex projects that define and shape communities. He has served as general counsel to municipal clients his entire career and has engaged as special counsel on complex matters local governments face. 

Additionally, he provides counsel on a variety of public finance matters and handles residential, commercial and industrial site real estate projects. 

Dienes earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and his B.A. from Siena Heights University.

Sallah counsels institutional and individual clients in complex commercial litigation and construction matters in federal and state court, at the trial and appellate level. 

He also has deep experience before numerous arbitration tribunals, including the American Arbitration Association, JAMS, and in arbitrations governed by international rules.

Sallah earned his J.D. from University of Toledo College of Law, magna cum laude and his B.A from University of Michigan.
