‘Detroit Red Wings Hockey Game Day’ hosted by CDAM


The Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan will host “Detroit Red Wings Hockey Game Day” on Saturday, February 8, at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a buffet lunch and soft drinks (cash bar available as well) at McShane’s Irish Pub & Whiskey Bar at 1460 Michigan Ave.  At noon, a shuttle bus service to the
Arena will start, which is included with ticket.  The Red Wings take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at 1 p.m. and the shuttle will return to McShane’s once the game is over.

SADO: ‘Arson Investigations’ explored in online training Feb. 6


The State Appellate Defender Office’s Criminal Defense Resource Center along with the West Michigan Regional Investigator Association will kick off their 2025 Trainings for Defense Investigators with a webinar on “Arson Investigations” Thursday, February 6, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Speaking at the webinar will be Marc Fennell of MDF Forensics LLC. Fennell has conducted investigations for criminal defense, appellate attorneys, and public defender entities to determine the origin and cause of fire and explosion incidents and other assigned investigative activities.

Applications being accepted for circuit court vacancy


Applications are now being accepted for a seat on the Wayne County Circuit Court to replace vacating Judge Charles S. Hegarty.

To be considered for this position, applicants must be a State Bar of Michigan member who meets the legal qualifications for this office.  To be appointed, applicants must reside within the judicial district.

Judicial appointment questionnaire, writing samples, resume, and supplemental documents must be submitted using the online portal at www.michigan.gov/appointments and received by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 31. Additional letters of recommendation can still be submitted after your initial submission to judicialappointments@michigan.gov.
