Historical Society to host Annual Luncheon
The Annual Membership Luncheon of the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society will be hosted on Thursday, April 19, at the Detroit Athletic Club, 241 Madison Avenue.
The Historical Society Luncheon is held in honor of the justices of the Michigan Supreme Court. In attendance at the luncheon will be several current Michigan Supreme Court justices as well as former justices of the Court. Chief Justice Robert P. Young Jr. will provide introductory remarks.
The luncheon begins with a short reception at 11:30 a.m. The program features a historical vignette on "Wounded Warrior: The Rise and Fall of Michigan Governor John Swainson" by Lawrence Glazer.
The Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society was founded in 1988 by Dorothy Comstock Riley during her term as chief justice. A nonprofit organization, the Society preserves documents, records, and memorabilia relating to the Michigan Supreme Court. It also produces publications, special events, and other projects to achieve its goals in education and restoration.
