Social Security disability discussed

 “Social Security Disability: Making the Record and Other Essentials” was the topic of a seminar co-hosted by the Social Security Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Disability Benefits Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, on Thursday, May 3, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit.  

Among the speakers at the event was U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Steven Whalen (second from left), Eastern District of Michigan.  

The seminar looked into procedural initiatives at the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR), appellate issues, and how to make an effective record at the administrative law judge hearing.  

Also taking part in the program were (left to right) Amy Humphreys, Jessie Grimm, Brad Darling, Marc Boxerman, and Jeffrey Appel.
