Foundation plans awards reception
The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) Foundation is pleased to announce that Foundation President Dawn Van Hoek will be honored during the Annual Awards Reception taking place on Wednesday, March 26. The WLAM Foundation's Awards Reception is also the occasion to introduce the 2014 Outstanding Women Law Students chosen to receive a total of $30,000 in scholarships to support their education. The awardees were selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership on women's issues, through a competitive process.
This year also marks the WLAM Foundation's 18th year of making awards to deserving women law students. In that time, 215 awardees have received a total of $500,000 in financial support of their law school educations. The Foundation's many corporate, law firm and individual donors have given generously to support the WLAMF's educational mission, and many will also attend the March 26th event.
The Awards Reception will take place at Local Kitchen & Bar in Ferndale from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at a suggested donation of $25 per attendee. The reception can also give local attorneys the opportunity to network with other lawyers and donors. Local Kitchen & Bar is located at 344 W. 9 Mile Road in Ferndale.
Join the WLAM Foundation by registering for the event by Wednesday, March 19. Contact Barb at 248-740-7003 to charge by phone, or charge online at www.wlamfoundation.org.
The WLAM Foundation's web site also offers opportunities to support the scholarship fund as a member of the Dean's List, supporters at levels above $125. Virtually all donations go directly to scholarships, and they are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
