On Wednesday, July 16, Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus hosted more than 80 Pontiac, Michigan youths, ages 16-19, who are participating in the Oakland Livingston Youth Employment Program.  Those who visited Cooley had the opportunity to learn about pathways into law school and the skills necessary to succeed in a law profession. Cooley faculty members gave campus tours and allowed the teens an opportunity to participate in a mock Torts class.
“The opportunity that Cooley provided allowed our youth to explore career paths that they may have never considered,” said Kathie Flanery, associate director of Workforce Development, Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency.
The Oakland Livingston Youth Employment Program gives youth the opportunity to earn money, gain work experience, learn and develop skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in today’s workforce, gain exposure to a wide range of outdoor recreational activities and interact with working professionals.
