Board to vote for new commissioner to fill seat vacancy in District #15

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote to fill a commission seat vacancy at a special board meeting today, December 2. The 6 p.m. meeting tonight will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners' Auditorium located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.

The individual appointed to the commission seat in District #15 will complete the remainder of former Board Vice Chairman and Commissioner Jeff Matis' term. The individual will serve the communities of the City of Rochester and a large portion of the City of Rochester Hills in District #15. The term will end on December 31, 2016. Matis was appointed on October 20 to the Oakland County Sixth Circuit Court as a judge by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.
