PHOTO #1: On Thursday, Nov. 12, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners honored Oakland County Risk Manager Julie Secontine (second from right) for receiving the President’s Award from the Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs for her leadership and work on fire safety and emergency preparedness. Happy to present Secontine with a board proclamation during a meeting in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac were (left to right) Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell along with Commissioners Marcia Gershenson and Shelley Goodman Taub.

PHOTO #2: Also during the Nov. 12 meeting, commissioners honored Bloomfield Township Fire Chief Dave Piché (second from right) for being named the Fire Chief of the Year for 2015, by the Michigan of Associations of Fire Chiefs. He was honored for his leadership.  Congratulating Piché were (left to right) Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell along with Commissioners Marcia Gershenson and Shelley Goodman Taub.

PHOTO #3: Commissioners presented Common Ground Chief Executive Officer Tony Rothschild (second from right) with a proclamation in recognition of his 25 years of service and leadership of Common Ground. Under his leadership, Common Ground expanded and was named the 2014 Best Managed Non-Profit by Crain’s Magazine.  Happy to recognize Rothschild at the Nov. 12 meeting were (left to right) Commissioners Marcia Gershenson and Helaine Zack, and Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell.

PHOTO #4: Commissioners also recognized Oakland County’s Human Trafficking Committee, Oakland County’s Digital Editorial Team, and Oakland County Sheriff Office’s Services Satellite Division on Nov. 12.  The Oakland County Board of Commissioners Human Trafficking Committee in collaboration with the Oakland County Information and Technology Digital Editorial Team received the GoldPost Award,  nationally placing third in the category of “Best Government Social Media Campaign” on behalf of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. The national award was presented by the Government Media and Archive Social Government Technology organization at the 2015 Conference & Expo in Reno, Nevada. The digital team helped promote the successful two-day “Learn About the Impact of Human Trafficking” event in 2014 in Oakland County through effective social media outreach. The commissioners presented a proclamation to the digital team and showed the Golden Post Award.  On hand for the presentation were (front row, left to right) Social Media Specialist Miranda Christen, Multimedia and Graphic Eli Ruhf, Social Media Kristen Mahoney, Digital Editorial Manager Kaitlin Keeler holding Golden Post proclamation, Web Content Melba Collins, Director of Department of Jewish Family Services Erica Saum holding proclamation, Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Senior Liaison Julia Ruffin holding GoldenPost Social Media Award, Crossroad’s for Youth President Janet McPeek, Oakland Schools’ Community Programs Director Susan Benson, Oakland County Health Division Manager/Health Officer Kathy Forzley, Oakland County Commissioner Shelley Good Taub and Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell; along with (back row, left to right) Lieutenant Larry Perry, eGovernment Supervisor Cassy Zakens, Oakland County Commissioner Janet Jackson, Web Content Chris Stinson, Director of the Department of Human Services of Michigan Susan Hull, Sergeant Joseph Tovar Jr., Oakland County Children’s Village Manager Jody Overall, and Oakland County Sheriff Lieutenant Wendy Reyes.
