'Mysteries of Probate Court' explored at free seminar in Novi

On Thursday, May 12, the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will conduct a free seminar titled “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” in conjunction with the City of Novi Older Adult Services at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. Ten Mile Road in Novi, from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process.

The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and provides useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.

Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Kathryn Gilson Sussman from Couzens, Lansky, Fealk, Ellis, Roeder, & Lazar PC in Farmington Hills.  Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.

To register for this free seminar, contact the City of Novi at 248-347-0414.
