'Before the Bell Breakfast Forum' offered in Birmingham, December 8

Area investment advisors, registered representatives, and trust officers are invited to join for the final Before the Bell Breakfast Forum of 2016 by Miller Canfield attorneys Brad Arbuckle and Jeffrey Aronoff. The forum will examine “Michigan Investment Market Act, Michigan Invests Locally Exemption, and Crowd Funding” on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.

Over the last several years, consumers have begun making conscious decisions to eat local, shop local, and buy local, prompting businesses and policymakers to experiment with new ways to support local economies. Now, the next frontier – invest local – looms as an exciting but complicated prospect for businesses and investors, particularly in Michigan.

The forum will address burning questions related to local investment and crowdfunding, including:

• What is a ‘MIM?’

• What is the “MILE Act?”  What does it do for Michigan businesses and investors?  What doesn’t it do?

• How does Michigan’s crowdfunding regime fit in with federal crowdfunding?

• What does all of this mean for YOUR business?

There is no cost to attend. Space is limited to registered representatives, investment advisors, and trust officers. Advance reservations are required.

To register, visit www.millercanfield.com and click on “events.” For additional information, call Sandy Bera at 248-267-3345.
