'Fraudulent Transfer Law' examined at program

The Oakland County Bar Association’s Debtor/Creditor Committee presented “Fraudulent Transfer Law: Cutting-edge Topics” on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills.  Speaking at the program were (seated, left to right) Thomas R. Morris of Silverman &?Morris PLLC; program moderator Megan McKnight of Plunkett Cooney; and Adam L. Kochenderfer of Wolfson Bolton PLLC; along with (standing, left to right) Joe Grekin of Schafer and Weiner PLLC; and Yuliy Osipov of Osipov Bigelman PC.  Among the topics of discussion were “Can a corporate veil shield a transfer that might otherwise be considered fraudulent?”; “What are a creditor’s rights when a debtor is involved in a Ponzi scheme?”; “Can a bankruptcy trustee recover from the college the tuition paid by a parent-debtor?”; and “The Uniform Voidable Transaction Act: A Little more than a new name.”
