An investiture ceremony for Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Victoria A. Valentine was conducted very fittingly on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium at the Oakland County Complex in Pontiac.

Valentine was surrounded by a host of judges, attorneys, family, friends, and supporters.  She indicated her investiture was her platform to publicly and personally thank everyone for the overwhelming support she received during her campaign and after her election.  She also thanked the entire Oakland County bench for being so welcoming and kind and an amazing group of individuals.

Also on hand to welcome her to the bench and participating in the investiture was Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, and Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner.

Prior to joining the bench, Valentine was a partner at Valentine & Associates PC and has been practicing law for 17 years.  She was also president-elect of the Oakland County Bar Association and a trustee of the Oakland County Bar Foundation.

Valentine takes over the family division docket of retired Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Joan E. Young and will hear domestic cases, delinquency and neglect petitions, adoptions, and personal protection orders.
