The Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan will celebrate Lawrence T. Garcia’s appointment to Corporation Counsel for the City of Detroit on Wednesday, March 7, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The event will be held at Granite City Food & Beverage, 100 Renaissance Center, Suite 1101, in Detroit. There will be a cash bar and appetizers sponsored by Hewson & Van Hellemont PC.
Garcia’s appointment is a milestone for the Hispanic and Latino community as it marks the first time a Latino has served as a member of the mayor’s cabinet.
