Business Court staff recognized

The Oakland County Bar Association’s Business Court and Counsel Committee along with the Debtor/Creditor Committee hosted the third annual Business Court Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, March 8, at CJ’s Upper Deck in Waterford. Among those enjoying the lunch were (left to right) Jessica Cheaib, Lena Essak, Julia Adams, Joseph Grekin, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Wendy Potts, Moheeb Murray, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge James Alexander, Derek Howard, Amanda Page, Mike Carroll, Joanne Thorndycraft, Audrey Polanco, and Donna Labelle. The Business Court began June 3, 2013 and was created by Public Act 333 of 2012. Its purpose is to establish the best practices for the resolution of business cases; to improve the efficiency of the courts and to utilize technology in managing business court cases; and to enhance the accuracy, consistency, and predictability of decisions in business and commercial cases. The Michigan Supreme Court assigned Judges Wendy Potts and James Alexander to the Oakland County Business Court.
