Seminar to focus on indigent clients, Jan. 15

The Oakland County Bar Association will present “A Snapshot of the Indigent Client in Oakland County” on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from noon to 1 p.m. at the OCBA offices in Bloomfield Hills.

This seminar presents an overview of poverty in Oakland County and the unique issues facing poor communities in metro Detroit. Topics of discussion will include:

• The challenges of working with clients in poverty, including their expectations and how to address them.
• Client-centered advocacy.
• Hot topics in indigent representation.

This seminar is free to attorneys on the criminal appointment list. It is worth one CLE credit for attorneys on the juvenile and criminal appointment lists.
