Detroit Bar Association seeks board candidates

The Detroit Bar Association is seeking candidates for its 2020-21 board of directors, according to DBA President Joanne Geha Swanson.

Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings of the governing panel, while also accepting related assignments to two board committees, Swanson indicated.

As a representative of the Detroit Bar, board members are expected to "become knowledgeable about the accomplishments and membership benefits" and to "make every effort to identify and enroll new members," Swanson said. Candidates should possess a variety of leadership skills and have demonstrated volunteer involvement in a bar committee, section, council, commission, task force, or a community philanthropic organization.

Nominations must be received no later than Wednesday, April 15. Those interested in applying can contact DBA Executive Director Darlene Trudell at dtrudell@detroitlawyer.org.
