Program to explore 'The Modern Mobile Family'

The Oakland County Bar Association's (OCBA) Family Law Committee will present "The Modern Mobile Family: Change of Custody/Domicile, UCCJEA and UIFSA" on Thursday, April 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills.

More and more custodial parents find themselves in the position of having to relocate great distances to pursue employment and other opportunities. What can a non-custodial parent do? What is best for the children? What role does the original state and the new state play in custody, parenting time and support? Learn how to best help the client and gain a thorough understanding of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement (UCCJEA) and the Uniform Interstate Family Support (UIFSA).

Speakers include Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Mary Ellen Brennan, and Oakland County Friends of the Court Traci Rink and Sandra Erskine. Oakland County Friend of the Court Referee Sahera Housey will moderate.

The cost for OCBA members is $70 for those who pre-register and $90 for those members paying at the door. Non-OCBA members who pre-register pay $90 and $115 if registering at the door. For more information or to register online, visit
