Chief Judge Grant elected vice chair of Judicial Tenure Commission

Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Nanci Grant was named by her fellow commissioners as vice chairperson of the Judicial Tenure Commission. Grant was elected in 2006 by the Michigan circuit judges as their representative to the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission.

The commission is a Constitutional commission that oversees the conduct of all state judges with the authority to discipline judges who commit judicial misconduct

Grant is past president of the Michigan Judges Association which represents all of Michigan's circuit and appellate judges and also was the circuit court representative on the state's Community Corrections Board.

Grant is a graduate of The University of Michigan with honors and Wayne State University Law School, where she served as director of the advocacy program. Grant was elected to the Oakland County Circuit Court in 1996.
