The Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM) celebrated its Annual Awards Dinner and Fund-raising Auction, “An Evening In Paris,” on Friday, March 19, at the Crowne Plaza in Novi. Among those taking part in the event were (l-r) Margaret Raben of Gurewitz & Raben PLC, CDAM president; John Freeman of the Law Office of John Freeman; and Kirsten Nielsen Hartig of Kirsten Nielsen Hartig PLLC.  “This is our annual get-together after our spring conference in Novi,” said Raben, who also noted that this year’s conference had an all-time high of 260 people. Also enjoying the festivities were (l-r) Jim Newhard, assistant general counsel for Bank of America; University of Michigan Law School Professor Dave Moran who was honored by CDAM for his work on the UM Innocence Project; and Jonathan Sacks, deputy director of the State Appellate Defender Office.Photos by John Meiu.
