LAD to hold free civil legal services clinics at H.O.P.E. Center
Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. (LAD) will conduct free outreach clinics on civil legal services for income-eligible residents of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, including the city of Detroit, on Sept. 14 and 28 from 9 a.m. to noon p.m. at H.O.P.E. Center, 33222 Groesbeck Highway in Fraser.

Attendees are asked to register before 10 a.m. each day, as LAD staff will assist only those persons who have registered by that time.

W. Anthony Jenkins appointed to NCAA appeals committee
W. Anthony Jenkins, member and Chief Diversity    Officer at Dickinson Wright, PLLC, was appointed to the NCAA Division I Infractions Appeals Committee.  His service began  Sept. 1 and will continue through Sept.  2014. 

Each NCAA division has its own infractions appeals committee and they are independent bodies that serve as the optional but final step in the rules enforcement process.

The committees are made up of representatives from the membership and general public(one member). The public representative    is normally a lawyer with no connection to the NCAA. There are five members on each committee and serve three-year terms, up to nine years.

 Holiday Hours
The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5 and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8 a.m.

The Third Circuit Court Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day.
