David Cole lecture on post-Sept. 11 civil rights reset for Nov. 15
The Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights has rescheduled the lecture to be presented by Georgetown University Law Center Professor David Cole . The lecture was originally scheduled for Sept. 29. The new date is 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium.
The lecture will pay tribute to the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedy and reflect on its long-term civil rights consequences. It is the first lecture of an ongoing Keith Center program to examine the relationship of the War on Terror and respect for individual rights.

Polish American Legal Society to hold membership meeting Oct. 12
The Polish American Legal Society is returning to its roots in Hamtramck. The next General Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. with a Polish dinner served at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held on the second floor of the Polish Village Cafe at 2990 Yemans Avenue in Hamtramck.

The Honorable David Turfe of the 20th District Court will be the guest speaker providing valuable insight as to how the practice of law has helped him provide justice from the bench. In addition, the Honorable Justice Diane Marie Hathaway of the Michigan Supreme Court will be attending to swear in the board members of the Society.

State Bar of Michigan and Williams Lea to sponsor Law Firm Leadership Seminar
In recognition of International Professional Legal Management Week, the Association of Legal Administrators Detroit Metropolitan Chapter is hosting a Law Firm Leadership Breakfast Seminar on Oct. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Skyline Club in Southfield. The featured speaker is John Michalik, former Executive Director of the International Association of Legal Administrators and author of “The Extraordinary Managing Partner: Reaching the Pinnacle of Law Firm Management.” The event is sponsored by Williams Lea and the State Bar of Michigan Law Practice Management and Legal Administrator Section.
