Judge Roberts to receive WLAM Foundation's Legacy Award

The WLAM Foundation has announced that State Bar of Michigan President Julie Fershtman will make remarks on leadership, and United States District Judge Victoria A. Roberts will receive the Foundation's Legacy Award during the Annual Awards Reception taking place on March 28. The WLAM Foundation's Awards Reception is also the occasion to introduce the 2012 Outstanding Women Law Students chosen to receive a total of $25,000 in scholarships to support their education. The awardees were selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership on women's issues, through a competitive process.

2012 also marks the WLAM Foundation's 16th year of making awards to deserving women law students. In that time, 195 awardees have received a total of $436,000 in financial support of their law school educations. The Foundation's many corporate, law firm and individual donors have given generously to support the WLAMF's educational mission, and many will also attend the March 28th event. All in all, the Reception offers many reasons to celebrate.

The Awards Reception takes place at the The Whitney in Detroit, from 5:30 to 7:30, at a suggested donation of $25 per attendee. The Whitney restaurant is located at 4421 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, with valet parking available (www.thewhitney.com). Please join the WLAM Foundation by registering for the event by March 21st: contact Barb at (248) 740-7003 to charge by phone, or charge online by Visa or MasterCard at www.wlamfoundation.org.

The WLAM Foundation's web site also offers opportunities to support the scholarship fund as a member of the Dean's List, supporters at levels above $125. Virtually all donations go directly to scholarships, and they are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
