Fourth Annual Hon. Kaye Tertzag Tribute Dinner set for Feb. 28

The friends and family of the Honorable Kaye Tertzag will host the Fourth Annual Tertzag Tribute Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 28. Judge Tertzag passed away on Feb. 4, 2009, having established a legacy of integrity and service to the State of Michigan, as well as a great example of love and devotion to his family and legion of friends.

To preserve and honor his memory, the Fourth Annual Tertzag Tribute Dinner will be held at the Park Place Banquet Hall in Dearborn from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Park Place is located at the corner of Park and Outer Drive, just south of Michigan Avenue. Tickets are $40 and include dinner and an open bar.

The Tertzag Tribute Dinner Committee selected Michigan Supreme Court Justice Bridget Mary McCormack as the 2013 recipient of the Purple Sport Coat Award. Hon. David J. Allen (last year’s recipient) will present her the award.  Justice McCormack shares Judge Tertzag’s passion for education. A former Yale professor, she has served as the clinical director for the University of Michigan Law School’s Innocence Project before her election to the Michigan Supreme Court last November. McCormack exemplifies Judge Tertzag’s motto: Be Prompt. Be Prepared. Be Polite.
Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra will be the keynote speaker. Tertzag and Zahra were friends and once served together on the Wayne County Circuit Court. Zahra served four years on the Wayne County Circuit Court and twelve years on the Michigan Court of Appeals before Gov. Rick Snyder appointed him to the Michigan Supreme Court in 2011.

Attendees are encouraged to wear purple to the event. Those wearing purple will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.

Checks should be made payable to: Tertzag Tribute Dinner, LLC and sent to 997 Henrietta, Birmingham, MI 48009. Spouses and/or significant others are welcome. Direct questions to Kara Tertzag Lividini at 313.645.9511 or ktertzag@gmail.com.
