Hosting the event were Aisa Villarosa Berg (left), Natalia Santanna, Erika Riggs, and Julianna Rivera. The group has assisted homeless veterans, young people impacted by the juvenile system, survivors of domestic abuse and other underserved Detroit residents unable to access legal aid.

The 313 Project, a nonprofit formed by three Wayne Law graduates, held its annual fundraiser “313 Reasons”  April 27 at Colors: Detroit. The event raised money through a silent auction to benefit The 313 Project’s pro bono clinics, service initiatives and the Dean Michele R. Miller Memorial Scholarship for Detroit students.

The 313 Project recently won a $25,000 grant from Home Depot to help open a legal aid and resource center for veterans and other underserved groups in the city. The nonprofit is now competing to win a $250,000 grant through Home Depot’s Aprons in Action program by collecting Facebook votes through the month of May.
