ABA meeting to provide business solutions

 A fresh approach to marketing is imperative for law firms and lawyers to thrive in an increasingly competitive market. The American Bar Association Law Practice Division’s fourth biannual Law Firm Marketing Strategies Conference will feature sessions with leading marketing experts speaking on the latest strategies, ethics opinions and business development solutions.


The Law Firm Marketing Strategies Conference: “Gateway to the Future: Marketing and Business Development Strategies for the New Legal World” will be held May 1-2 at Chase Park Plaza, 212 N. Kingshighway Blvd., St. Louis, Mo.

Program highlights include:

• “Gateway to the Future: Global Insights Into Today’s Legal Marketplace” — Gerry Riskin, founder of the global legal consultancy Edge International, will provide the latest information demonstrating how parts of the world and even regions of the U.S. have been buffeted by, and buffered from, changes brought by globalization, technology and economic circumstances.

 “How to Work a Room: Using Social Skills to Generate New Business” — Author and speaker Susan RoAne will share tips for an effective self-introduction, some gracious exits, the best way to remember names and overall ways to improve communication and socializing skills.

• “The Value of Storytelling and Making Your Message Unique” — Emmy-nominated and Associated Press award-winning journalist Corey Saban will share why storytelling is so important and how firms can create and market their own unique messages.
