 Foley litigator promoted to colonel in U.S. Army Reserves

The U.S. Army Reserves promoted Foley Litigator Jeffrey Kopp to Colonel. With this promotion, Kopp will take command of the 91st Legal Operations Detachment, a Chicago reserve unit comprised of about 100 judge advocate attorneys and paralegals. The unit provides legal assistance to reservists located in the Midwest, principally in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa. Kopp was selected by the Judge Advocate General Officers Screening Committee for this position after a highly competitive process.

Kopp is a partner in the Litigation Department in Foley’s Detroit office, where he is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice, the Automotive Industry Team and the Trade Secret/Non-Compete Task Force. He serves as a Director on the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Board. In addition, he provides pro bono volunteer services for the Detroit Legal Services Clinic and Project Salute.
 

ISIAL to hold Christmas Party at Detroit Historical Museum Dec. 4

The Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers (ISIAL) will host its Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 4, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Detroit Historical Museum, 5401 Woodward Ave. Cost is $55 per ISIAL member, $105 per ISIAL member and one guest, $40 for attorneys practicing less than 5 years, $35 per law student, and $65 per non-member or pay at the door. PALS to host Holiday Party Dec. 6 at American Polish Cultural Center

The Polish American Legal Society (PALS) will host its Holiday Party on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the American Polish Cultural Center, 2975 E. Maple Rd. in Troy.  The evening will consist of dinner, cocktails, music provided by Little Davy and the Diplomats. Formal attire is requested. PALS supports Toys for Tots and guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate at the party. Ticket price for the party is $55 per person, $550 per table. WLAM-Wayne Region to host holiday community service even

 
The WLAM-Wayne Region will hold its holiday community service event on December 2 at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Detroit by hosting a dinner for the families staying at the House during the holidays.
