OCBF to host annual Signature Event for law-related charities

The Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF), a nonprofit foundation serving the citizens of Oakland County and the legal profession, will host the 16th Annual Signature Event to benefit Michigan-based law-related charitable causes on Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills.

“Over the course of the last 15 years, we’ve been so fortunate to have the unwavering support and dedication of the Oakland County legal community, and we’re proud to say that support has expanded into other industries,” said OCBF President Eric Pelton. “As a result of the generous contributions from our sponsors, we raised a record $260,000 last year, and we’re looking to set a new record in 2015. These funds go directly to the financial support of many worthy legal aid and education nonprofits right here in Oakland County.”
Proceeds from the past events have benefited the important work of the Beaumont Hospital Legal Aid for Children, University of Detroit Mercy and the Michigan Center for Civic Education to name a few worthy grant recipients. Last year’s event raised $260,115 and with the help of sponsors like Conway Mackenzie, Inc., Kenwal Steel Corp. and Stout Risuis Ross, Inc., who are all platinum sponsors for this year’s event, OCBF has high hopes for another successful fundraiser.

Tickets to the 16th Annual Signature Event are $175 per person and may be purchased at www.ocba.org under the “Events””tab or by sending payment to the Oakland County Bar Foundation, located at 1760 S. Telegraph Rd., Suite 100, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., 48302. Those who are unable to attend the event but wish to contribute to the law-related charitable causes supported by OCBF can send contributions to the address above. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, contact Katherine Tillinger at (248) 334-3400 or ktillinger@ocba.org.
