Firm to present free ‘Men’s Divorce School’ webinar on April 6

Men’s Divorce School, a complimentary webinar presented on Wednesday, April 6, by the domestic litigation firm Cordell & Cordell, will cover strategies and mistakes to avoid during divorce for men in the Detroit area.

The types of questions addressed will be: How important is it that I stay in the marital home? How much time should I spend on financial records? What could happen if I conceal information or assets? Does it matter if I file first?

Learn what mistakes to avoid in your divorce case by registering for this free webinar on Wednesday, April 6. The webinar will begin at noon local time and end at 12:30.

Cordell & Cordell, the nation’s largest domestic litigation firm focusing on representing men in family law cases, is committed to helping men protect their roles in their children’s lives while safeguarding their financial means to do so.

Perceptually, men are at a disadvantage in family courts. Cordell & Cordell has established itself as a leader in family law devoted to equal rights for men facing divorce.

“Our firm protects and promotes men’s family and financial interests before, during, and after divorce,” said Joseph Cordell, J.D., C.P.A., LL.M., P.F.S., and co-founder of Cordell & Cordell. “Men have chosen Cordell & Cordell since 1990 because they want to feel that their interests and the interests of their children are aggressively championed.”

If you’re a man facing a divorce—perhaps one you don’t even want—you should register for this free webinar.

Some taxpayers will take ID quiz to get refund from Michigan

LANSING (AP) — A tax refund from the state of Michigan could require more than just filing a return.

The Treasury Department says it wants to protect taxpayers from identity theft. Some taxpayers will receive a letter asking them to confirm their identity through a short online quiz.
Refunds will be released in 14 to 21 days if the identity is confirmed.

Treasurer Nick Khouri says it’s an efficient way to stop fraud while minimizing the impact on taxpayers.

More information on the quiz can be found online at http://www.michigan.gov/taxes.
