Breaking the Cycle

Augustus Straker Bar Association was invited to attend a public forum titled “Breaking the Cycle” by the United Methodist Women, Church &?Society Prison Ministries of Hope United Methodist Church on Thursday, Aug. 25, in the fellowship hall of Hope United Methodist Church in Southfield. Among those welcoming the speakers (seated) to the forum were (standing, l-r) Loretta Brown, Farrah Glenn, Farmington Hills attorney Joan Howard, Andie Johnson, Diane Cross, Rev. Rosaline Green, Susan Howes, and Jocelyn Davis. The forum explored the issues associated with the mass incarceration of minority and low income criminal offenders and the disparate educational, socio-economic, legislative, and judicial experiences they encounter along the way.
