Kenyetta Stanford Jones takes the oath of office as administered by U.S. District Judge Linda Parker during a February 9 investiture ceremony at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Building in Detroit. Jones, who was elected in November to a seat on the 36th District Court, was lauded at the ceremony by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Wayne County ­Prosecutor Kym Worthy, and 36th District Court Judge Kevin Robbins, among others. An assistant prosecutor in Wayne County for the past 12 years, Jones earned her bachelor’s degree from the ­University of Minnesota and her juris doctor from Cooley Law School. She and her husband, David, an attorney in Detroit, have two young daughters.
