Jaffe’s Women’s Caucus Group hosts Charitable Marketplace Event

Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C.’s Women’s Caucus Group, established to help women at the firm manage work-life balance, participate in community outreach and gain valuable self-marketing and business skills, recently hosted a Charitable Marketplace Event to benefit local causes.

Attendees had the opportunity to network, hear inspirational stories from three incredible vendors who contribute sale proceeds to charitable causes and get a head start on holiday shopping. The vendors in attendance were:

• Rebel Nell, a Detroit-based social enterprise that empowers women, creating graffiti jewelry from chipped pain and offering classes about financial success to women in need;

• WAR Chest Boutique, the retail arm of the Michigan based non-profit organization, Women at Risk, International (WAR, Int’l), which offers unique gifts that are hand-crafted by or sold in support of at-risk women and men in their partnering programs in over 40 countries; and

• Wingme Cosmetics, a local vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand that prides itself on giving back to select charities that empower women and children.

Attorneys for Animals inducts first class of Animal Friendly Attorneys

Recognizing that people who care about animal welfare would prefer hiring attorneys who share their values, Attorneys for Animals (AFA) has developed Animal Friendly Attorneys, a designation program that provides the animal-conscious public with easy access to information about attorneys in Michigan who practice in many areas of the law.

Today’s inductees have demonstrated a commitment to advancing animal protection in their professional and personal lives and pledged to support Attorneys for Animals’ mission and to not knowingly take any action in their practice to harm animals. They are: Mary Chartier, East Lansing; Danielle Nicole Dawson, Grand Rapids; Celeste M. Dunn, Clarkston; LeeAnn M. Ford, Auburn Hills; John P. Guenther, Bloomfield Hills; Erin Klug, Novi; Nadine Koppin, Bingham Farms; Ginny K. Mikita, Rockford; Tricia Smith, Dowagiac; Justin J. Sterk, Grand Rapids; Kelly A. Todd, Louisville, KY; and Rebecca Kristen Wrock, Farmington Hills.
